Business of the Year Award

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - Aerodyne Alloys, is a recognized leader in specialty high temperature alloys. The company has been honored with the Business of the Year Award.
The South Windsor Chamber of Commerce and the Town of South Windsor annually select an outstanding company that has benefited the South Windsor area; contributed to the town's betterment and has expanded its business.
Aerodyne Alloys has met all the criteria for the award. It's most recent expansion was an additional 15,000 square feet bringing its total facility to 62,000 square feet. Additional employees were also hired to meet the growing demands for supplying high temperature alloys internationally. The Business of the Year Award was also endorsed by a proclamation of the State of Connecticut General Assembly's Official Citation Certificate.
Aerodyne Alloys has supported the South Windsor high school's CWE (Cooperative Work Experience) program for over a decade. The program includes an internship and mentoring experience at the company with junior and senior level students; of which some have returned to work for the company. Aerodyne employees recently supported the South Windsor Food Bank with a food collection drive.
Although the company has a global reach it embraces local actions on many levels. "As a company we work at benefiting the South Windsor community as opportunities arise. Adopt a Child, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Special Olympics and the Jimmy Fund are among the efforts we are involved in," said Don Pizzoferrato, Aerodyne CFO.
As well, the company is actively involved in numerous Chamber programs which improve business potential in the area. Those improvements obviously translate to individuals and families in the area. "Many people don't realize that South Windsor is listed on CNN Money's Best 100 places to live," mentioned Gordon Anderson, Aerodyne's Director of Information Systems, ".and we have a strong commitment to keep that achievement intact."
The company supplies Nickel, Cobalt, Titanium, Stainless, Hastelloy® and Inconel® 718/625 in bar, sheet, plate and near net shapes to a broad range of industries such as: Aerospace, Defense, Power Generation, Medical, Petrochemical and MRO.
Aerodyne Alloys is a division of O'Neal Steel, a privately held company, and is a member of its newly formed O'Neal High-Performance Metals Group specializing in aerospace and other high-performance metals markets. "Historically, South Windsor is known for agriculture and ship building, but the town also supplied hundreds of volunteers for the Revolution along with supplies, cattle and cloth.
